{hipstamatic app}

Got a new app on my iPhone that I've had so much fun with! It's an app that helps take fun pictures using the features of the old hipstamatic camera. Here are a few I've taken in the past few days...

Doesn't this look like a family pic from the 1970's? I think I have a few of these in my baby book.

I love the colors on this one!

Not sure if it's the pic that looks so cool or if it's the fact that it's of a precious baby sleeping!

Another great pic with cool lighting and a precious subject!

The kids wanted to keep going but I won't bore you anymore. Anyway, awesome pics all taken with the iPhone! Check it out!

{friends}

We had the Harrison girls over the other night, which will soon not be what they are called because baby boy will be arriving soon.  They will soon be referred to as the Harrison kids (weird, huh?).  The girls came over and we had a fun-filled night!  Here are a few of the highlights...

We started out eating dinner which was a joke because the kids were too excited to play!

We played outside on the swings!

Parker and Mabry...the best of friends!
We made mud pies.  Sorry Brooke!  Its Hayes's favorite activity and your girls loved it!

Here is Hazel sliding down the slide.  This was her favorite thing.  She climbed up and went down no less than 50 times!

And I wore them out by letting them jump in the moonbounce!

We had a great time and can't wait until they can come back over again!! We love you Harrison's!

{back to school night}

Last week we headed off to back to school night for Hayes. He has been beyond excited to go to "OU school"! Spending the last few weeks watching his sister get ready for school and leave every morning has definitely made him anxious for his turn. He has asked me every day if his school is ready yet. It's so sweet to see him so excited about school but sad to see him getting so big at the same time.

For some reason it's harder to see Hayes grow up than it is to see Parker grow up. I think that's partly because he's my baby. This is the last chance I get to have a baby and it's quickly escaping. Every day we are one step closer to having two grown kids and I'm just not ready for that! Secondly, I'm pretty sure my sweet baby boy will grow up, marry some amazing girl, and never come back to see me. He will have his own life and won't need his momma. I know Parker will always need me and want me around and will never leave me but I can't say that with confidence about my baby boy. He's so dependent on me now but I know that will change. I only hope he won't forget about me!

I know it's only the first day of preschool but he might as well be headed to college. I'm not sure I can take it on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted!

{no more}

Never again will I let my kids play unattended with my iPhone. I was just flipping through the pictures and found 45 pictures of this...

And this...

And this....

Look familiar? It goes on and on and on. It's going to take days to delete all of the nonsense! Crazy kids!

{prayers}

Last night Parker and Hayes had their best friends, the Harrison girls, over to play. They love to play together and get along like brothers and sisters. Before dinner we said a prayer and Harper (3) was the first one to offer to pray. She insisted that everyone close their eyes and clasp their hands. At the Gladhill house we all hold hands and close our eyes. Harper kept saying "no, we do it this way. You have to do it this way!" and Parker would respond with "No, you hold hands!". I was standing back listening to them and thought how sweet that they are fighting over who can pray and how to pray.

After Harper said her prayers and included prayers for everyone she could name, the rest of the kids wanted a turn. It had gone on so long at this point that I had time to get out my phone and video the rest. Here's what I caught.

I will post some pics of our play date soon!

{summer fun}

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. It has been a great summer filled with tons of fun and lots of great memories. It has just flown by! Tonight the kids wanted to play outside and eat popsicles just like we used to do every night when it wasn't 105 degrees at 6:30pm. We braved the heat and headed out.

We love to be outside and play! Parker and Hayes don't mind the heat at all!

Then, Parker decided tonight was the night she wanted to learn to ride her bike without training wheels. I mean she is in Pre-k after all! We reluctantly took off her training wheels and she was off. Well, not exactly by herself but for her first try she did GREAT!

Getting a little love and encouragement from Daddy. We didn't master it tonight but after a few more times she will be ready to roll. She can't wait to ride down to Cole and Jae's house like a big girl! I, on the other hand might have a nervous breakdown soon because my kids are growing up so darn fast!

{snocones!}

Check out this face after his tigerblood snocone...

How cute is that? And a butterfly joined us for snocones too!

"Barbie" is her flavor of choice. Go figure!

{first day of school}

I can't believe today was the first day of Pre-K for Parker! This is so cliche, but it really seems like yesterday I was holding a little baby and now she's off to school for the rest of her life. Ok, I know that's a little dramatic but really it's true. When she us finally finished with school she'll be an adult! Where o where has the time gone?

It was so special to see her excitement today!

Walking to school with her princess backpack that is as big as she is.

And here she is checking out her classroom.

This morning I called her in to fix her hair and she took the brush from me and said "mom, don't you think that's something a pre-k kids can do?". I about died. Where did this girl come from? Too sassy for her own pants!

{The Big Ballet}

Parker loves to dance! She has a CD player in her room that she plays music on all the time. She will dance and sing along with the music no matter what is playing or if anyone is watching. But lately she has been inviting people to the Big Ballet. Whoever is here gets an invitation and has to come watch the show. It brings back so many fond memories of when I was a kid and put on a show with my sisters. Here is a glimpse of the big ballet we enjoyed the other night...

{Happy Birthday Zac}

Zac's birthday was a few days ago and we have had a few days to celebrate! We started with a family party on the night of his birthday and had delicious steaks (or cow meat as Parker likes to call it) which is our families favorite! Then came the birthday cake!

The number of candles is no indication of how old Zac turned. I won't be revealing that because I think he might read this blog and I don't want him on my bad side. :) The double doozie cookie cake is our favorite!!
Last night Zac and I went on a date just the two of us and had a wonderful time reminiscing! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be married to such an amazing husband and father. He is more than I ever dreamed of and thank God every day for bringing us together. As I think back on all of the birthdays we have shared together, I feel so lucky for being a part of Zac's life for such a LONG time. I can say that today I am more in love with him than ever before and look forward to when he is twice his age and we are retired and get to spend every single second of the day together! (right babe?) Love you!

{brave boy}

Hayes was such a brave boy tonight and jumped off the diving board by himself with no one in the water to catch him! (with floaties of course)

Check him out...

{wedding weekend}

My long-time friend Ashley got married this past week somewhere super fun and tropical. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to the wedding but was able to celebrate at her reception. It was such a fun weekend to see a lot of friends that I haven't been able to see in a while.

My dear friend from High School Leighann, Julie, me, Shar & Kibbe!

Kibbe and Ryan. It was Kibbe's birthday so we were having a pre-celebration before the wedding festivities.

Chan & Julie. I LOVE this picture! Makes me smile!

Jason and Becky at the wedding reception. It was at a fun art studio downtown OKC. Awesome location!

Me and Zac

It was a great night of dancing and catching up with old friends! Congrats to Ashley & Bryan!!

{growing up}

I really can't believe our kids are growing up so fast! I don't know where the time has gone but in a blink I don't have babies anymore. It makes me sad but also excited at the same time. This week we went school supply shopping for Parker. It was always one of my favorite things to do because I LOVE school supplies. I was one of those nerds that loved color coding my class folders and having everything ready for the first day of school. Parker loved getting her school supplies too!

Hayes had a big week too! He got his very first pair of big boy underwear! He doesn't yet go pee on the potty but I thought this might encourage him along. He wore them over his diaper but has yet to go on the potty. It's probably a little premature, but hey, what the heck...it's at least worth a try!

Look how proud he was when he was opening them. He wanted to pose with every pair. So cute!

{Family!}

Last weekend our family got together for a fun swim day! My Aunt Nancy and cousin Courtney were in town from Nashville so we made it a party! The kids swam all weekend and we had a great time chatting and hanging out. I have the best family in the world!

Our cousin Rylie was jumping off the edge of the pool. She's such a big girl!

Cousins! They have so much fun together. We are so lucky to live so close to our family!

My amazing cousin Courtney and Sister Marta.

My 90 year old grandmother, Mimi, who can always give me a run for my money!

My sister Traci and nephew Bryson

My Aunt Nancy and Mom. We always have so much fun when she visits!

My favorite boy...Hayes!

{Truman}

Parker is counting down the days until she gets to go to Truman! She's beyond excited. Here she is in her new hat. I can't believe she will be in pre-k!

{diving board}

We are so proud of Parker for learning how to jump off the diving board with no floaties! She mastered it this weekend while swimming all weekend with her cousins! Check it out...

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Today I walked in to the office aka "the man cave" to find something in the piles of stuff. See this is a room that we somewhat converted for Zac to have as his own space. It has his gigantic TV, favorite leather recliner, his very own remote, video games, and really most of all a quiet space just for him when we are all driving him nuts! So this is a haven, if you will, for him to escape. We all need them so I am glad he has a place to go. (Mine is the teeny, tiny laundry room but I'll show you that later.) Recently Zac shot a deer that he had dry mounted. We have neglected to hang it up on the wall so it lays on the desk next to the computer, next to the piles of stuff I previously mentioned. Here is how I found it...

Parker said she "just wanted to make it look pretty". I couldn't help but agree and laugh out loud!

I just LOVE that girl! She wants to find some more trinkets to put on the "other horns". I'm not sure how Dad will feel about that? But I think it looks really nice so i'm not complaining.

{hammers cont.}

Here are some more funny shots of Hayes taking care of his pet hamster "hammers". Thought they were too cute not to share...
